Curriculum Overview

For grades K-5, we use the Sunday School Network "Bible-4-Life".

  1. We have an opening prayer and then a sharing about a Saint.
  2. Our opening prayer includes 1-3 songs from the CCR Youth Song sheet.  Songs on this list are incorporated into the General Community Gatherings so that the children are more able to enter into worship.
  3. The lessons are designed to be used in two - one hour class times.  They include a teaching, enrichment ideas, songs, crafts and games.
  4. Class curriculum:
    • K-1 grade work on "The Amazing Miracles of the Bible", "The Parables of Jesus" and "Super Heroes of the Bible"
    • 2-3 grade work on "The Great Promises of the Bible", " The Be-Attitudes" and "Tell me the Story of Jesus"
    • 4-5 grade work on "The Fruits of the Spirit", "Spiritual Gifts", "His Name Shall be Called", and "Choose this Day"

Preschool and Nursery.

  1. We use a program developed by several members of CCR.
  2. They start with the same opening prayer that the older children use.
  3. They share a story about a Saint or a Mystery of the Rosary
  4. Then the children move into a hands on station time involving crafts, coloring, books and other items to illuminate our Faith.  Stations for the Nursery class focus on things that we see in the church and Stations for the preschool focuses on what we see on the altar.
  5. Every lesson also includes an optional activity relating to one of the important Feast days in the Liturgical calendar.
