Youth Group Core Commitments
CCR Youth Group 09-10 Member Commitments
As a member of the CCR Youth Group, I commit to be a Christian and live a Christian life, endeavoring to grow in my relationship with the Lord, in my relationships with my brothers and sisters in Christ, in Holiness, and in manifesting Christ to others. I understand that making and keeping commitments is crucial for the spiritual growth of each Youth Group member and for the strength of the Youth Group as a whole.
Two Main Goals
-
That each Youth Group member would, Know, Love and Serve God.
-
That the Youth Group would be a community of Disciples on Mission.
To these ends, I commit to the following Five Core Practices
-
Frequent the Sacraments: Mass every Sunday & Regular Confession.
-
Daily personal prayer and Scripture reading.
-
Regular intercession for: family, small group, three friends/relatives far from Jesus.
-
Faithful, active participation in the Youth Group.
-
Serve the Youth Group or CCR in a particular ministry.
Additional Commitments
-
Invest in up building relationships with Youth Group members, especially my small group.
-
Honor all Youth Group members, avoiding negative speech, especially gossip and slander.
-
Avoid exclusive relationships.
-
Be modest in heart, speech and dress.
-
Use the media with godly discernment.
-
Respect the authority of Youth Workers.
As usual, the commitment will be explained at WAPO. Each of the youth will take it away with them, discuss it with their parents, sign it, and turn it in. Anyone who doesn’t do so will need to meet with their Small Group leader 1-on-1 to discuss the matter. If they still don’t want to sign it, there may be further consequences, such as not being in a Small Group.
Over the course of the year, different aspects of the commitment (especially the core practices) will be focused on in Large Groups and Small Groups.
