Curriculum Overview
For grades Nursery-5th grade, we use the Sunday School Network “Bible-4-Life” program.
- All classes begin with an opening prayer and then a sharing about a Saint.
- The opening prayer includes 1-3 songs from the CCR Youth Song sheet. Songs on this list are incorporated into the General Community Gatherings so that the children are more able to enter into worship.
- Each lesson is designed to be used in two – one hour class times. They include a teaching, enrichment ideas, songs, crafts and games.
- Class curriculum:
- Nursery (3-4 yr. olds) – “Amazing Miracles” and “Prayer of Jesus”
- Preschool (4-5 yr. olds) – “Parables of Jesus”
- Kindergarten - “Super Heros of the Bible”
- First Grade - “Tell me the Story of Jesus”
- Second Grade - Great Promises of the Bible” and the first half of the “Be-Attitudes”
- Third Grade - continues with the “Be-Attitudes” and then “Sermon on the Mount”
- Fourth Grade - “Fruits of the Spirit” and “Gifts of the Spirit”
- Fifth Grade - “Choose this Day Whom You will Serve” and “His Name Shall Be Called”
- As needed, lessons about the 10 commandments and important Feast Days of the Church are also included.
